Lawrence - Checked it out - interesting concept but you don’t qualify just yet since there’s not much of a search function on your site.

Hello 2aday
Our team just launched a new collaborative web-based mind mapping tool called Comapping. We have had a lot of interest from both the business and educational segment. It is worth checking it out at comapping.com . Let me know if you have any questions or feedback.

Did you have to customize the css…to get the photos on your category pages for this template. Would appreciate your feedback and if you did modify it, how did you go about doing that…thanks for helping a newbie..

Did you get an iPhone? Can you blog into the WordPress web interface with it? In my fondle, it took very long to try to get to the Dashboard and since it was iDay, I had to quit waiting to let someone else try it. I’d love to be able to blog into the WP Write web interface with it!
(METROXING: My phone is in the internet order pipeline, I was too lazy to drive down and wait in line - clearly, it looks like if I drove back in at about 10 o’clock, I would’ve gotten one fine but at 6:00:05 PM in front of the computer, I defy anyone to think rationally
But I do look forward to being able to blog from my iPhone. Let us know how what you think?)

Hi Metroxing,
I was wondering if you would be willing to beta test my very first web application for the iPhone. It’s a simple RSS feed reader I whipped up and would love to have you feedback on it. (You don’t have to write about it on your blog or anything; I would just like your feedback).
Best,
Farhan

Hi Metroxing,
Recently, I spent nearly half a day (6 hours?) compiling, researching and typing a complete “list” of all the die-cast Cars. I only did this because for weeks I had been complaining that I could not find such a list online after many tries at Googling for one. Seriously, why would Mattel put numbers by each “character’s” name with the newer packaging but not have a list on their site??
So, I have this thing 90% done and ready to put on my blog and do a Google image search on “Cars Pixar” or something like that and suddenly find your page! What a mix of joy, despair and grief to find that I did all that work for nothing, but at least the person that beat me to it did a better job that I imagined possible! Finally, I have a chance of completing my two and a half year old’s collection.
Other than writing you to a) suggest you work on getting listed in search engines for “disney, pixar, cars, die-cast, +list” and b) thank you over and over for all your hard work and inside info, I wanted to see what you thought of the idea of Mattel releasing more of the “Tractors” packed individually? My son would love to have a bunch of tractors for tractor tippin’ but I’m not buying more Luigis and Guidos to do it! They could release variants with slightly different “spot” patterns too. Oh well, just a thought.
thanks again!
(METROXING: You did see the spreadsheet/checklist right?
And yea, lots of people are interested in the tractor but Mattel has held out so far … there is another box set coming with exactly ONE tractor).
February 28, 2008 at 10:01 am
I love the tractor idea! I’d love to have a little group of different ones too. Some friends of mine brought me the four new Adventures sets yesterday. It was better’n Christmas! What I’d like to know is why the seventh set on the first group hasn’t shown up? I check this site several times a day for new posts and pictures–I love pictures!! Keep up the good work.
(METROXING: THe 7th one is just arriving in stores now - hopefully I’ll have the MINI checklist up by this weekend).

Love the Cars blog, great content. Here at AllAboardToys.com we continualy view the site to see what all the collectors are talking about. Keep the good stuff comming.
What are your thoughts on The Johnny Lighting Speed Racer line?
March 7, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Great superb site, very comprehensive and detailed. Don’t know how you collect so much info!!!.
What’s your policy/permission about using pictures/info from your site in a consolidated news type letter on other websites? Couldn’t find anything. Thanks
(METROXING: Not sure what you’re asking - you asking how we get our photos?)
March 8, 2008 at 4:30 am
Well ok two questions. How do you get your photos, and if can I get permission to use some of your photos (off the website) and news (off the website) to use in a news page on my own small (shop) website ?
I mean some - not all or a complete copy - as I just want to produce a consolidated report for local customers (uk).
email supplied is valid
(METROXING: Any “fair use” of “our” photos or content is fine, as long as there’s a link or mention of our site, no need to ask us specific permission. Most of the rest of our photos are either PR photos or product shots either from the manufacturer or authorized distributors as we mostly discuss products — and those are either pulled off from their websites or third party websites. We try never to substantially just copy a website. If we don’t really add much like our recent post on the ship COUGAR ACE, we did grab a photo from WIRED, we point out the article is on WIRED.com. If it’s something like the Batmobile post where we assembled all the information and wrote up a longer post but we’re really just running one long ad for Mattel :-), the photo ownership is implied. In the case of the Petersen MUseum post, the PR person asked we add copyright info to each photo so we did … hope that helps answers it - if there’s a specific post, you can email me at metroxing (at) gmail.com).

I saw “Cars” the movie just a few months ago and was so amazed by it I started collecting the die-cast cars. Your site has been nothing short of amazing in helping me catch up in collecting, so keep up the good work!
One question for you…I am confused on which Mack figure to get. I am an opener collector so I don’t want both the Mack Playset and the Mack Transporter, but I do want the one referenced in your spreadsheet under the “Opener” tab. Are both figure fronts the same with the only difference being the back? Thanks!
(METROXING: I only have the first “Mack Truck Playset,” which comes with just Mack & Lightning McQueen - and it’s his “bachelor pad” which we saw the interior on his way to CA. Apparently, his expression and mold is the best and the others are slightly different. As I only have this one and it is the most inexpensive one, it’s seems a perfect way to go. I think Target still carries it - around $10?)

Thank you for this site. I am a Diseny Cast Member at Walt Disney World and i used to work in merchandise at the Pop Century Resort. and i used to be a stocker. so i was the one who would open the brand new boxes in 2006 and say “i need that, that and THAT, OMG THATS LIZZIE - MINE!” yea i admit i was THAT person. but i am now a photographer at Studios (i actually take photos of lightning mcquuen and mater a lot) and i have no access to merchandise. so your site has really helped me stay on top. Thank you. I have my RLC membership and I’m ready for Speedway of the South!! Thank you again. you rock my socks!
