Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: We Grow ‘Em Big in El Segundo

If you like your Pixar CARS flying objects large – boy are you in luck … of course, Big Barney Stormin’ is appearing or soon appearing on your shelf (apparently they were thinking about releasing with a rubber band flying feature but some lawyer managed to take the eye out of another lawyer … OH MY EYE! MY EYE! … so you know how that goes 😉  )

But coming at the beginning of September, are a slew of other CARS flying objects in giant scale including:

AL OFT THE BLIMP

MARCO THE JET

Joining the current and out giant Lightning Storm McQ & the Dinoco Helicopter.

Though the scale of the giantism Mattel CARS don’t seem to follow any real scale so we’ll see if Al Oft or Marco can be displayed with the 1:55 CARS.

There is one curiosity listed among what’s coming – “Mack the Cab.”

Does this mean, they will release a giant Mack (just the front portion?) – it seems to have a different code number than other current Mack’s that are out but it means very little … but it seems likely we’ll get a giant front cab Mack with lights & sounds like the other giantism releases.

Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: 2 More Piston Cup Racers Coming!

We are still unpacking for our move to TakeFiveADay.com so not everything is in place yet … we’re still moving things around so it’s all a little rough but if you want an update to the Piston Cup Racers out and coming soon, we have updated the chart & post HERE at TakeFiveADay.

So, check here at 2aDay.Wordpress.com first and if we update any older posts, we’ll let you know here first until we complete our move to Take Five A Day.

The next two Piston Cup racers scheduled after the other announced are coming as Pit Row Race Off (launchers) which have been re-named to something more logical – PIT STOP RACERS.

Here is artwork for McQueen & King – my feeling is the artwork is a combination of both design prototypes you see here. BTW, ‘FPO’ is a graphic design phrase – ‘For Position Only’ meaning something will go there but it’s not close to final yet.

So, if you want to see photos of Tank Coat & Easy Idle as well the revised chart, follow this link.

Disney Pixar CARS: Disney Licensing – Busy

Another photo blog post since I’m out and about …

Treasure Hunt Caged Death Match … How do they sell anything like this?

I think you can pretty much live your life 100% CARS …

I guess, next year the armbands will be WORLD OF CARS?

There is practically no aisle of Walgreen’s without something CARS …

Fortunately, there is no McQueen CARS licensing for these next two products but I like to take a look at the $.99 Store to see what new marketing product was a FAIL and had to be quietly sold off at $.99 or 2 for $.99 but I couldn’t resist this photo … I think if you’re paying $.99 for the thing on the left of the shelf, you might as well pay $.99 for the “test” on the right at the same time because you’re gonna need it …

Yes, these were really shelved next to each other and yes, only $.99 – I’m sure your ‘partner’ will appreciate you buying the best … well, the best the $.99 Only store has to offer … Um, Happy Father’s Day?!

Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: Motor Speedway of the South? Bring $1,350, Yep, $1,350 USD

FOR THE LATEST CARS & Piston Cup Info, be sure and visit our new site, TakeFiveADay.com – Simply click on the text link or the logo above. Thanks!

Motor Speedway of the South? Bring $299, $500, $750, $850, $1,100, Yep, $1,350 USD. $1,100? That was so like yesterday … get with the times!

Man, I guess they were right about the dollar not being worth anything, why I remember when $1,100 would buy more than 36 CARS, a display case & a track … but hey, I guess I’m just a old geezer who think $1,100 is real money … I guess I’ll have to take another 3″ off my bed and sleep just a little lower to the ground … damn nasty 300%+ inflation … and man, it’s a short click from $500 to $1,100.

Or today where $1,350 is the new benchmark … that MOPPY guy was not to be denied going from $911 to $1,305 in a little over 6 hours … where $1,280 of your money is NO FREAKIN’ GOOD here … bring $1,350 (with shipping) or don’t come at all, DUDE!

Yesterdays’ bidding blow by blow …

There were actually THREE people willing to pay $1,000 – t***7 who thought his hidden max bid of $1k would surely carry the day, the e***e guy who jumped in thinking his $50 extra would buy him the set but nope, you needed another $26 USD + shipping …

Mama said Knock You Out.

What recession are people talking about again? It’s all great here at the Billionaire’s CARS Club … Well, I’m off to crush my Apple car and have an Crushed-Appletini – would you like yours stirred or shaken?

We now have at least 3 people who have bid $1k for this set and have nothing to show for it except carpal tunnel … and as “BMW” points out, another auction is at $1k so we’ll have a few more crying into their spilled caviar …

Now, maybe I’m not the right guy who should tell people how to spend $1k of their hard earned money (gold leaf chocolate is nice after my shift at The Dollar Tree).

But maybe this might be a more er, uplifting way to go … $30 buys you a meal for 70 kids or $100 for clean water for 40 people … Or buy an African family a starter farm & sustanance … (a cow, 2 goats, 5 chickens and a cockerel) for $50. Or 40 chickens for $60

Just remember, there’s no point to bidding $1,280 for 36-CARS if you lose! You must bid to win – come on, people, just type that 2 first and be done with it and hey, why not type the 3 first … how many people can say they own a $3,000 dollar set of CARS – not many – be the first! Be the first! Be the first! (just make sure you get the Apple CAR).

San Diego Comic Con: 5-Day Ticket SOLD OUT

Okay, no one panic 😯

There are plenty of 1-day tickets still available, the only ticket to sell out are the 5-day tickets which also allows you in Wednesday night for PREVIEW NIGHT (which runs 3 hours).

Yes, that allows you to buy and jump the gun a little earlier than most but don’t panic.

(SD Comic Con doesn’t count Wednesday Preview Night as a “day” so they call the 5-day ticket a4-day ticket).

For CARS, the show runs a total of 38 hours and there are 5,000 sets of LS McQueen (Mattel will have to average 131 units sold every hour on the hour to sell out … and I predict they will but they’re not going to sell out in the 3 hours of Preview Night so no one panic. Most important, no needless eBay clicking – at least not yet.

Our preview post of Lightning Storm McQueen is here along with a list being managed by some nice friends of 2ADay who are making arrangements to buy and ship it to you.

We hope to get an update on how many come in a case so you can plan if you need a cart, a sherpa or a donkey.

Eventually, we will get around to doing a post on all the exclusives at the SD show but so far, we also have some mighty nice Mighty Muggs to show you – scroll down to the bottom.

If you live in the San Diego area and are on a tighter budget, you can also consider volunteering three hours of your time and you get in that day for free.

Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: First Look Re-Scale Fred

Arriving with “Chase” Fred with Stickers will be the “re-scaled” Fred sometime in September, 2008.

And man, they aren’t kidding.

Fred has been down-sized … or right-sized depending on your perspective.

He might just be half the man he used to be.

How many more of these can I come with before I show you the picture? 🙂

And no, that’s not MINI Fred … it’s almost Fred Jr. though … but of course, it makes sense on a lot of levels to make the change … Fred (v 1.0) compared to the animated version was way, way too large – his hood line is higher than TJ, a Hummer!

It’s been suggested that Fred is a Studebaker Lark though he looks more in line with several Fiats* or its European/Russian knockoffs like the Riva or he’s really a combo of everything … In Wikipedia, Fred is listed as a 1962 AMC Rambler but I don’t see it.

* The Yugo was based on this Fiat.

Because when Fred is next to the Security SUV, he’s not that tiny (and if he were the Rambler, he would be almost exactly the same length as a Dodge Dart which Rust-Eze is).

Okay, now Fred might be a tad too small – more like a combo Fiat & the Nash Metropolitan. But, I guess at least he’s no longer larger than the Hummer and Mattel saves a ton of metal 🙂 Fred was a heavy sucker also.

So in September, we can say hello to Fred, The Biggest Loser in one sense but also special enough to warrant a “chase” version on top of reduced-weight Fred sans stickers version. So, what I believe is going to happen is when Fred v2 get released, intermixed will be 20,000 Fred’s with 3 stickers on the doors and the back trunk – so good luck!

(I THINK PHOTO PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN FIXED – LET ME KNOW IF PHOTOS DON’T SHOW – THANKS “H” FOR PHOTOS!)
